How to Become a Member of First Pineville

We hope that you are prayerfully considering making First Baptist Church Pineville your spiritual home. Membership in a local church is important for your spiritual growth and service to the kingdom of God.

When you join this church, you are saying, “I want to be a vital part of what God is doing through this church in this area and around the world.” When you join, you are also pledging to be active in protecting the unity of this church, sharing the responsibility for the work of this church, and supporting the testimony of this church. Membership is no small thing, but it is a rewarding commitment.

You may present yourself as a candidate for membership at FBCP by sharing this decision with the pastor during the invitation at the conclusion of each week’s service. Our pastor will then direct you to a decision counselor who will meet with you briefly regarding your decision and will collect the necessary family information.

We receive membership in four ways:

1. By profession of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, looking forward to baptism and church membership.

2. By transfer of membership from another Baptist church. This is often referred to as “by letter.”

3. By statement of faith and prior baptism by immersion in a church where no  record of members is attainable.

4. By statement of faith and prior baptism by immersion after review by the pastor and deacons.

If you have any questions regarding membership, please speak with our pastor or another member of our ministry staff.
